My Life Thus Far

Queen Of The Pity Party In The Skybridge

I watched my husband's ship back out of port from the
skybridge of the gym. The gym is broken into two buildings
that are connected by a glass passageway that is suspended
in the air. I was walking from the ab room back to the
cardio theater via this passageway and just happened to
look to my left in time to see the Stennis slowly backing
out of it's berthing. I was in such a good mood. I was
half way through my workout, my muscles were warm, I was
feeling good. Then like a flash of lightening, it was like
the floor had fallen out from under me and I instantly
missed Snookums so much. I know he won't be gone long and
I realize that no matter how many times he leaves, or how
long he'll be away, I'll always miss him hopelessly that
first day. The one great things about going to the
military gym is that I wasn't alone. There were quite a
few other woman there mourning the departure of their
husbands. Misery loves company and I was in the middle of
a pity party. I'm almost glad I got to see him leave. It
mentally puts me into survival mode. I know I'm alone,
there's no one here to help me. I know he isn't so close,
yet so far. He really is far, so I woman-up and handle my
business. I can't afford to be weak. But, I was still the
Queen of the pity party in the skybridge.

I had an appointment this afternoon at Today Chevrolet.
FINALLY I got my keyless entry remote reprogrammed, so now
I can actually lock my doors, open my trunk and set my
alarm effortlessly for the first time in six months. I
didn't realize how much I used that little remote until it
didn't work anymore. It cost $50.00 to have it
reprogrammed, but they think it might have malfunctioned
because I kept dropping it (the last time in a puddle).
So, I'll have to be more careful.

I'm going to have lunch, then get the house straightened
up. I don't spend much time at home like I use to and I
didn't do anything, but lay around this weekend, so my
housework is seriously backed up. Helena comes this
weekend, so I'm going to have to get into gear and get it
done. Ciao.
