Iced Orange Pekoe

My mother-in-law finally arrived. I had to go retrieve her
from Albertson's because she got lost, but now she's here.
A 5 hour drive turned into a 10 hour drive and you don't
know how glad I am a situation will never arise where I'm
forced to travel with her by car (at least not while she's
at the helm. I'LL drive!). I won't be too rough on her,
though. She's a nice lady, just ditzy, scatter-brained and
vacant.

I'm doing so well with my weight this holiday season. Even
after my chinese buffet trip yesterday, I was still able
to drop yet another pound (I'm 2 away from were I was
before vacation). I think I can attribute my success to
NOT being so strict with myself. I'm allowing myself to
have ANYTHING I desire, but I'm listening to my body when
it says it doesn't want something, or when I'm full, or
when I don't think something tastes as good as I thought
it would. I'm being careful, but not pre-occupied. I drank
gallons of tea today. Gingerbread, Green tea with mint,
iced orange pekoe, Egg nog flavored Bigelow. I love all
the interesting flavors tea comes in and with a little
Splenda, they are sweet and with a splash of milk (which
adds minimal calories) it's creamy. Tea is a wonderful
thing.

I'm going to go for now. My MIL is wandering around behind
me and I don't want her to catch what I'm writing. I don't
know why I'd expect privacy while writing in a public
diary, but no one in my family other than my husband knows
about this diary, so it kind of is private. Ciao until
tomorrow.
