My Life Thus Far

Dan left Jason and I the most touching letters this
morning. Helena said he got up around 3am and left by 4am,
even though his flight didn't leave until 11:30am and
Portland is only a 2 hour drive away. Helena said that
after his talks with Jason and I yesterday he felt a huge
weight had been lifted off of him. After the emotional day
we all had yesterday, he needed time to collect himself
before throwing himself fully back into work. In my letter
he told me I should be proud of admitting what happened to
me, because I saved Annie from having a diary like the one
I had as a young girl. If he only knew how truthful his
words are.

Snookums got up around 5:20am hoping to say good-bye to
his dad, only to discover he was long gone. We tried going
back to bed, but about 30 minutes later, Snookums woke me
up saying he needed me to help him sleep. So, we wedged a
pillow behind our headboard and had slow, quiet, but still
wonderful sex. With the sound of crashing waves drowning
out our moans and heavy breathing. Being quiet so Helena
wouldn't hear made it seem so naughty and almost
clandestine, which made it even more pleasurable.

Later this morning/early afternoon, we headed into Lincoln
City to have lunch at Mo's (a famous restaurant on the
water) and to do some tax-free shopping at the outlet
mall. Helena was so good to me. She bought me tons of new
clothes and some jewelry. I'm not use to so much
generosity without ulterior motives.

Helena went out to dinner with some old friends tonight,
so we had gourmet pizza from a lovely place called Hawk
Creek Cafe. After putting the girls to bed, Snookums and I
cuddled together on the couch and watched Pearl Harbor
together. That movie makes me hate that Snookums is in the
military, but he assures me nothing like that will happen
again. The military has learned from past mistakes.

Writing by hand is certainly taking some getting use to.
I'll be glad to get home and back to normal, but I must
admit, I'm having a great time and if I had my computer, I
wouldn't want to go home at all. The weather has been 100%
gorgeous, cloud-free and warm. It's almost like God
planned this week just for me. Thank you God.

Did you know in Oregon you aren't allowed to pump your own
gas? An attendant does it. Isn't that absolutely archaic?
It's still kind of nice being waited on, too though. Well,
goodnight. Ciao, as always, even from afar.
