My Life Thus Far
2005-11-19 18:05:47 (UTC)

:) I'M BACK (:

I'm back from my fabulous vacation and I took very
detailed notes, so I won't divulge too much in this entry.
Let's just say, it didn't turn out as bad as I thought it
would. In fact, I had a great time. I didn't realize how
much I missed being near the ocean (not Puget Sound, but
the actual open sea) until I got out of the car and heard
that familiar sound again. It was wonderful. But, that's
another journal entry.

I'm back to my normal, everyday life. Nothing special.
Today I've got to wash all of the dirty clothes from the
trip. Catch Annie up on her missed homework. Go grocery
shopping and of course, catch my dear diary up on the last
5 days. My mother-in-law (Snookum's birth mother, Sue. Not
Helena) is coming on Monday (I think, it could be
Tuesday). So, at some point, I'm going to need to get the
house cleaned up, too. I've got plenty to keep me busy
this weekend. I'm just not in any mood to do it. I've
spent a week doing pretty much nothing other than what I
wanted or absolutely had to do. It was great, but it's
over now. Damn.

As you'll be able to see by the entries I'll update you on
(at some point, I'm feeling lazy), I haven't been all too
concerned with my weight. Weight-watching has no place on
vacation with you, as far as I'm concerned. I was
conscientious of how much I was eating and I did listen to
my body when it said it was full, but other than that, all
bets were off. I ate gourmet pizza, fresh seafood,
decadent desserts, drank amazing wine and champagne. I had
a good time. Now things are back to normal. I got on the
scale this morning (I told myself I wouldn't, but I did it
anyway) and it said I'd gained 10 pounds. I hardly think I
ate enough to gain 10 pounds in 5 days. I think it had
more to do with my alcohol and sodium intake (causes
dehydration and water retention) than any amount of food I
ate. I'll wait a few days, drink plenty of water and eat
right and then survey the real damage. Snookums gained 4
pounds, which had to be from all the food he shoveled
down, so I'm thinking I gained somewhere around there or
less. I don't honestly care. I don't look any different.
My skinny clothes still fit, I had a marvelous time. It
was worth a few gained pounds. I'll drop them in a week
and start back on my weight loss track. Dan and Helena
couldn't believe how I looked and the next time I see them
(probably in another 6 months) I want to blow them away
again.

Well, I've got to feed the baby and get the rest of the
family some breakfast. I don't want to, but I'm the mommy
again. Helena does everything for you when you're with
her. I've been spoiled. Now I've got to take control
again. Damn. Ciao until later!

P.S. The next 4 entries you read will be as written from
my trip to Neskowin. Enjoy (whenever I get to transfering
them :)
