My Life Thus Far

No Tornadoes Have Touched Down

Today was one of those days, I just didn't feel like doing
much of anything. I didn't clean, I didn't work out, I
didn't leave the house (other than to check the mail).
Nothing was the mantra of the day. I don't feel
particularly bad about it, either. Sometimes you just need
a day of total relaxation to help put life into
perspective. Not to mention the weather was drizzly and
dreary. The perfect equation for laziness.

Fleece is a magnificent material. I'd love to kiss the
person that invented such a comforting textile. My rainbow
colored polka dot fleece blanket ($5 at Old Navy, thank
you very much :) was my best friend for the better part of
today. Ultra suede couch fleece blankie = HAPPY CAMPER!

Snookums got home from work around 5pm (as usual) and
jumped right into a huge pile of laundry I'd so lovingly
left in the middle of our bed. He's been putting forth
such a valiant effort at being more open, helpful and
present in all aspects of our family-life and
relationship. He's communicating more, making more
conversation, just being more pleasant all around. I made
sure I praised his efforts (and stroked his ego, a bit)
while he finished the chores I couldn't bring myself to
touch today. I do love that man so much. How did I get so
lucky?

Tomorrow is crunch-time. The last day before my mother-in-
law comes from Michigan to drop off Christmas presents
(she likes to do things well in advance). I need to get
the house in tip-top shape (for my own reasons) before she
arrives on Saturday. Thankfully no tornadoes have touched
down in the living room lately. I'm grateful for small
blessings. Ciao for now.
