The Most Lovely Feedback

As I signed in to write my evening entry, as I do most
every night, I noticed I had a message. Nothing new, I
usually do have at least one. But this one was different.
This was the most lovely feedback I've EVER recieved. Not
just from other bloggers, but in my entire LIFETIME. No
one has said such kind and loving things to me. Not my
parents, not my husband (he's come close, but he's not
great with words), not my daughter (too young to
understand) and certainly no strangers. It made me feel
good to hear that I'm doing someone some good just by
being open. This diary has been my saving grace over the
past few months. If I've done anyone (whoever may be
reading this) some good, please let me know. Knowing I'm
not alone in my thoughts helps me carry on each day. I
just thought perhaps, that one honoring feedback deserved
an honorable mention. Thank you.

As for my day, it was okay. I didn't do much around the
house. I all of a sudden came to the realization that next
week is our vacation and this weekend I need to get
everything in order, because we leave Monday morning. Just
thinking about all the logistics of packing up 2 children
(remembering all their crap) and making sure Snookums and
I have everything we need, made me want to enjoy my last
few days of normalcy by not doing a damn thing at all. So,
that's what I did. Not a damn thing. I did go on a 30
minute jog, but that's it (I meant it when I said no more
1000 calorie marathon burn-offs).

I went online today to see if I could find some
information on how to jump-start my stalling metabolism
and I found the perfect website and the perfect advice. In
theory, it should work perfectly. Basically, what it said
was I've taught my body to survive on 1000 calories. It
doesn't know the difference between a low-calorie diet and
being a cast member of LOST (what the hell are they eating
on that island, anyway?) I need to shake things up and
trick my body into thinking all is well. How I'll do that
is referred to has THE ZIG-ZAG METHOD. I'll eat my regular
daily requirement of calories (like I wasn't trying to
lose weight, only maintain), then for 3 or 4 days eat less
than what I need and then have another regular day and
then just keep switching it up. My body will never know
whether it needs to use up stored energy (fat) or if it
will get enough food that day. Like I said, in theory it
should work, and it gives me more freedom with food. I've
always heard it was a good idea to throw in a high-calorie
day to your diet, but I just though it was just a way for
weak-willed individuals to give themselves license to make
bad food choices. Now that I've discovered that it is
actually backed by scientific research, I'll give it a
shot. I've got nothing to lose (sorry for the pun). Ciao.
