No Mental Vexations

Unfortunately for you, diary. I've got nothing pressing on
my mind. I spent the day with Gen and got all of my most
pressing mental vexations out, so that leaves me with
little to write about other than how my day went.

I got up bright and early this morning so I could get the
girls ready to go. Getting 3 girls (including myself)
dressed and out the door is quite the logistical nightmare
at times, so I was glad I gave myself plenty of time. We
managed to leave on time, for once!

Gen and I met up at Starbucks in Poulsbo. We had a nice,
warm coffee (mine was a nonfat vanilla carmel macchiato,
so yummy. I've had better, but it was still good) and a
bit of a chat. Gen had a pumpkin spice latte, which is
also great, but the caloric value just doesn't add up for
me. I prefer to eat my calories, not drink them.

Afterwards we went to a couple of holiday bazaars. One at
a church (which was nice, but small and it didn't have
much to offer) and another at the high school Gen
graduated from. I was glad I went. I was able to get 5
pairs of handmade earrings (made with lovely stones and
beads) for only $11. I love them! They've got so much more
character than store-bought jewelry and I know millions of
other people don't have them. Maybe just a handful.

Once we finished perusing the holiday bazaars, we came
back here so Gen could do her laundry (she doesn't have a
washer and dryer and I don't pay for electricity or water,
so it works out great). It may sound strange, but it gave
us lots of time to talk and connect. I feel like we've had
such similar lives (in an abstract way) and so much in
common. It was nice talking to a flesh and blood person
who could comment and respond and we could bounce ideas
off of each other. Human interaction is a wonderful thing.

I'm so tired. I've had a full (but good!) day and I'm so
ready for bed. Snookums isn't going to be happy that I
left him a sink full of dishes, but I'll help him do them
in the morning. I'll just make sure there isn't any food
left out. I'm still a little spooked about cockroaches :)
Ciao and goodnight!
