My Life Thus Far

Kiki and Starbucks

Kiki went to her 6 month wellbaby check-up this morning,
and I'm happy to say, she's perfectly healthy and growing
well. I'm doing everything right! After a lot of trial and
error, with Annie (my guinea pig), I'm finally getting the
hang of this motherhood thing. I must admit, it's a lot of
fun (at times), but still quite demanding. Kallista is
meeting all of the necessary milestones and then some.
She's the size of a 12 month old, but her doctor says her
weight will stabalize when she gets more active. I'm not
overfeeding her, like some would like to think. We got all
of her shots up to date and the first intallment of the
flu shot. I'm high risk, so I got a flu shot too. When we
go back for Kiki's second dose, we'll get Annie one, too.
Then the whole family will be covered.

After Kiki's appointment I met up with Gen at Starbucks.
It was so nice connecting with her. She's probably the
best friend I've had since I was a child. We've got a lot
in common intellectually and we agree on a wide array of
topics and that makes conversations easy. I hope we can
develop a great friendship with time. I know she's got
many other friends she gets a lot from, but I know she's
got room for me :) I've got stuff to offer, too!

Snookums is coming home from work early today, so he can
comfort Kiki in her time of need (she's always a bit fussy
after shots). This is the first appointment he's missed
since I found out I was pregnant and I know it was hard
for him to miss, even if he didn't say so. He's such a
good father and husband. I'm so lucky. I'm going to go
straighten up the house and throw in a load of laundry
(all the clothes I've bled on in the last 24 hours, yuck!)
and hopefully Snookums will think I'm a good wife (I know
he already does :) Ciao for now.
