Mango Sorbet and Dulce De Leche Frozen Yogurt

I made a good (healthy) dinner tonight. Mesquite marinaded
chicken breast, baby red potatoes (I only had one little
potato), green beans and sliced tomato. It was lovely.
Snookums came home late (around 6:30pm) but I had it all
prepared and ready to eat. Afterwards, Snookums wanted
something sweet for dessert and we had a whole long
conversation about how he needed to stop sabotaging both
his and my progress by letting his urges for cheesecake,
ice cream, cake, etc. get the better of him. I believe
that his only motivation for losing weight is the Navy.
Not that he WANTS to lose the weight. He HAS to lose it,
or risk not advancing in his career. It isn't something he
wants for himself. It's like the first time I lost weight.
I did it so my mom would stop calling me fat, not because
I wanted to. Everything is different, now. I'm determined
NOT to fall back into the trap of emotional eating. So, I
convinced Snookums that it was possible to have a sweet,
satisfying dessert, without piling on the calories and
sugar.

I made a trip to Albertson's and got another watermelon
bowl (what can I say, I love watermelon) for us to share,
mango sorbet for me (it reminds me of when I lived in Guam
and stole mangoes right off the tree from the little old
lady that lived behind my middle school), and dulche de
leche frozen yogurt for Snookums. Dulche de leche
cheesecake is his absolute favorite, so I was pleased to
find that flavor of frozen yogurt for him. When I handed
him his little bowl, he looked sceptical, but when he
tasted it, he was in heaven. I'd proven to him that good
for you doesn't have to taste like crap. He was even up to
trying my sorbet. He isn't big on mango, but he thought
the sorbet was fabulous. I agree.
