My Life Thus Far

It Was A Wonderful Juxtaposition

I had such a relaxing, peaceful day with my family. Days
like today are so few and far between that they truly are
precious when they come along. It seems like life flies by
so fast now adays, so having a slow, quiet day is a real
treat. Especially when nothing goes wrong, there's nothing
that needs to be done and everyone is happy.

We all went to bed kind of late last night. The girls
didn't go to bed until almost 10pm (late for them) and
Snookums and I eventually drifted off to sleep together
around 1am. Snookums and I woke up peacefully and
uninterrupted at 9am this morning to Kiki still sound
asleep in her crib and Annie watching cartoons on the big
tv in the living room (she has a pink and purple disney
princesses tv in her bedroom, but she'll pass it up if the
big tv is available). We all went grazing for breakfast
and settled ourselves into various activities. Annie
worked on her writing, I read my book, Kiki gnawed on some
building blocks in her playpen and Snookums skipped out.
He didn't say where he was going and I didn't ask, but he
wasn't gone long. When he returned he came bearing gifts.
He bought Annie a little microwave pizza for lunch, soup
for himself and a cubed watermelon bowl for me. Watermelon
is very much out of season here, so it was a lovely treat.
Watermelon is my absolute favorite fruit! Snookums also
brought home wood for a fire. So, I got to sit on the
couch, in front of the roaring, toasty-warm fire and eat
cool, crisp watermelon. It was a wonderful juxtaposition.

So, that's basically what I did today. I sat in front of
the fire and read my book. Snookums watched tv. Annie
alternated between numerous activities (writing, coloring,
Barbie's, fidgeting, etc.) and Kiki did what she normally
does. Eat, sleep, drool, pee, repeat. It was such a cozy
day. I wish Sunday was everyday. It felt so good, I almost
felt guilty enjoying it so much!

Well, the reality is the day is drawing to a close. The
girls are asleep and Snookums is in bed drifting in an out
of consiousness. So, if I want to cuddle and spoon. I'd
better go now. Ciao until later.
