My Life Thus Far

Rewarded With 198

I slept SO soundly last night. I went to bed around
midnight (why I stayed up so late, I don't know) and when
I opened my eyes, it was 7am. I feel very rested and
energized! It wasn't so long ago that I dreaded bedtime,
because I'd stay awake, in the dark for hours, trying to
catch sleep that would always elude me. To make a
wonderful night's sleep even better. When I stepped on the
scale this morning, I was rewarded with 198 pounds. How I
lost a pound between yesterday and today is beyond me. I
did do a lot of vigourous cleaning, so I guess that
helped. I knew that if I stopped obsessing about every
single calorie, every single pound, everything involved in
the process of losing a pound, I WOULD lose a pound. Did
that make any sense? I was getting so frustrated, to the
point where I burned myself out thinking about it. Now the
changes I've implemented into my life truly are a
lifestyle, not just a diet. I've been at it long enough to
develope the habit, and it's going to stick!

I got a one-lined e-mail from Snookums this morning. He
told me he loved me and missed the girls and I very much.
I was a bit sad, because he sent it only 15 or 20 minutes
after I shut off the computer last night. I wish I could
have gotten it in time to send him one back. They're
shutting off his e-mail account today (he's not stationed
on the Reagan, so it was just a temporary account). I
printed both e-mails he's sent me out and put them in an
envelope, so when we're 80 years old, I'll have the first
e-mails he sent me while underway. I'm so looking forward
to Saturday night. In 48 hours I'll have my Snookums back!

I'm going for a walk now. The weather is definitely fall-
like, and I'm loving it. It's been in the 40's every
morning this week and only getting up to the mid 60's
during the day. The great thing about the Northwest,
though is that it doesn't get very cold anytime of the
year. I like the happy medium when it comes to
temperatures. I've decided that fall is my new favorite
season. I love the colors and the smell of fireplaces
being lit and the refreshingly cool weather compared to
the heat of summer. I'm looking forward to lighting my
fireplace soon. It's all so lovely. Ciao!
