My Life Thus Far

A Plethora Of Emotional Challenges

My poor body has been through a plethora of emotional
challenges this afternoon. Happiness, disappointment,
concession, temptation and strengthened resolve. All in
the course of a few hours. When Snookums got home from
work, we went to get my new treadmill. This brought about
much HAPPINESS. When we got there, the model I wanted
wasn't available in-store. I have to order it online. It
will take 3 weeks. This brought about DISAPPOINTMENT.
Snookums, seeing that I was very perturbed about this new
development, reminded me of my workout wish list and said
that, since we were here, we might as well check some of
those things off, so that's what we did. I got a Step-
aerobics workout set (DVD and step), 5lb balls (they are
like dumbells, only they are soft, squishy balls that are
heavy. Kind of like stress balls, only way heavier), a
jump rope, a new pedometer (this one lets you adjust it to
your personal needs. You punch in your weight and stride
distance and it tells you how many calories you've burned,
as well as steps, distance and time, and a scale that
tells you, not only your weight, but your BMI! You tell it
how old and how tall and it does the rest. I also got some
Slim-fast meal replacement bars and snack bars. I like the
nutrients they provide, with minimal calories. I drink the
shakes all the time. So, getting some things checked off
of my workout wish list was a CONCESSION.

We got home kind of late, and Snookums decided he wanted
pizza for dinner. He ordered that new steak fanatic pizza
from Domino's. This is where TEMPTATION came into play. I
knew I could have 1 piece without sacrificing my progress,
but I wasn't sure if my fragile motivation could handle
the forces of cheesy, steak-covered pizza. So, I had a
slim-fast shake and a meal bar. Not exactly balanced
nutrition, but a better option than losing will power and
binging on pizza. Give me a little credit. After the
leftover pizza was safely tucked away in the back of the
refridgerator I had a sense of STRENGTHENED RESOLVE,
knowing that I looked temptation in the eye and shot it
down!

So that was my day, in a nutshell. I think it was a
successful day and I'M PROUD OF MYSELF!! Ciao.
