My Life Thus Far

Too Sleepy To Go On

It is almost exactly 12 hours since I wrote last, and just
as I anticipated, I am proud of what I have accomplished
today. I got my butt up, went for my walk and I felt good
about getting it done, when I didn't really feel up to
doing it. I'm just feeling a bit tired today. I'm sure it
will pass, as most discomforts do.

I chatted with our new neighbor next door. She just moved
in a few days ago and although I'm not the most hospitable
person, she was standing in her doorway and initiated the
conversation. I couldn't pretend I didn't see or hear her.
You should always be good to your neighbors. You never
know when you might need them.

Soon after I got home, Snookums came home. He's going to a
Naval training school right now, so he got home earlier
than he generally gets home from work. I was glad he came
home early, because it started raining soon after I got
home and I didn't want to take Kiki out in the rain for my
second workout. I left her home with Snookums and Annie
and I went out for a walk in the rain. It was actually
quite invigorating and I ended up walking further and
longer than I do when it's sunny out. I'm still working
through my issues with the sun.

When I returned home, I took a hot shower (I was soaked)
and spent a little time with the girls before I started
dinner. Once everyone was fed and either asleep for the
night or napping, I dove into my book. I've been trying to
carve out at least an hour a day to read a book. Usually
it's from 10pm to 11pm, but occasionally I find a few
spare moments during the day to get some reading in. It's
really helping to take my mind off of not eating in the
evening or excessive snacking during the day.

If my entry seems a bit dreary and non-interesting, I'm
sorry. I'm feeling pretty tired. All the exercise is
really making it easy to go to sleep at night. Which I
guess is good, but it makes it even harder to go to Kiki
if she makes a noise in the night. I probably shouldn't be
doing that anyway. I read in one of those parenting books
you shouldn't go to a baby at night if they make noise.
You're suppose to let them put themselves back to sleep.
You only go if they start crying. I don't like to let her
get to the point of crying, though. Just popping binky
back in her mouth saves both of us the trouble of
screaming through the night. It's harder to get them back
to sleep if they start full blown wailing. Thankfully,
this doesn't come up too often.

Well, as much as I'd love to pour my heart out on the
screen, I'm about to fall asleep on the keyboard. I
thought exercise was suppose to give you energy. Only in
the day time I guess, because I am seriously ready for bed
and it's not even 9:30pm. Ciao for now.
