The Second Most Common Diary Entry Topic Ever
That's right: dreams.
But I'm not just going to say 'I had a weird dream last
night'. There's more to this post than that. I once
remarked, in a conversation with my own inner manifestation
of truth (don't ask), that not only must I constantly
question reality, now I question surreality. The thing about
last night's dream has been 'the thing' about all the dreams
that leave me thinking about dreams all day: I woke up from
it, and fell back asleep into it. The other time that I
remember this happening to me, vividly, was when I had
crawled down out of my bed to turn off the alarm that
accidentally went off from the wave radio downstairs, and
crawled back up into my loft bed - right back into my dream.
Literally.
I pulled myself up the ladder foggily (I have a loft bed,
which my best friend helped me build when we re-did my room
after my father died last year - told you I'd use the past
for reference), slinked across the mattress, closed my eyes,
and was right back where I left off. The dream was one in
which my father came to visit, which happens sometimes. I
think he definitely comes into them on purpose, it's not
just a dream of memory, because I know while I'm in the
dream that it's temporary, he's only going to be there for a
little while. I haven't had him in a dream of mine for a
while now, which kind of makes me sad, because I love it
when it happens. I remember last time there was a definite
feeling that he wasn't only going to be around for a little
while, but I had just figured that meant until the dream
ended - I hope it wasn't trying to tell me that he wasn't
going to be coming back.
