katsie Multitudinous (I just *know* that's misspelled--are there two s's in misspelled?). Seen three in the last few days-- Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (Episode Two), Spiderman, and Insomnia. First off, Star Wars (one viewing... so far). I went to the opening night midnight showing. Had to, didn't I--saw Episode One at the midnight showing, planning on seeing Episode Three at the midnight showing. The opening night crowds are the best anyway, they are so vocal and reactive, really into the movie. How *was* the movie? *MUCH* better than Epi. One. Actually, much of the first movie makes more sense after watching this one. I've heard some critics say that this one equals The Empire Strikes Back... I don't know about that. I'll have to reserve judgement as far as how the new movies hold up against the old, for me the original three are just perfect--ewoks and all--so I can't really be impartial about comparing the old and the new. Just go see it, trust me. Oh, and Jar-Jar is only onscreen for about five minutes, total. Spiderman next, seen it twice so far. Great casting, IMHO. Tobey and Kirsten have very good chemistry. I know the rumors about a set romance, don't care, doesn't affect it one way or the other. Excellent set-up for a sequel (hear they plan on a trilogy) and rather brave of them to not go with the traditional happy ending. Insomnia (one viewing). Very freaky. Gripping, but very creepy. Or maybe gripping because it was very creepy. Pacino was excellent, as was Hilary Swank. Robin Williams was just *creepy* (brrrrr), gave me the shivers. I walked out in desperate need of a light and fluffy comedy before bed. I also walked out rather overwired, you know that feeling when you've been up too long and you need to sleep but you won't yet and you're overly aware of being awake? I had that. Got it completely from Al Pacino's Detective Dommers (sp?). Spooky. |
